12 Jul 2-24 - Arrived at Pine Lake RV Resort & Cottages Sturbridge Mass

On the downwind leg!  We departed Bayley's Camping Resort in Scarborough Maine this morning at 0945 hrs.  Before departing any campsite we have a very specific process we go through.  Most campers do.  That is why I try to never interrupt a fellow camper when they are in the process of either departing or arriving.  I let them finish (in cousin Eddie's voice LOL) before greeting them or saying our farewells.

Anyway, I finished up everything and the last thing I do is a 360 degree walk-around, inspecting everything.  Bingo, lookie what I found!  The outside motor cover is missing from our front awning!  I have no idea how this occurred.  We did not hit any tree limbs or anything that I am aware and it was there when we departed out campground near Calais Maine.  Oh well, those things happen.  It is an easy fix once I get the cover,  More on that later

The trip into Massachusetts today was relatively uneventful.  It was mostly interstate except for the very start and very end.  We had about 15 miles at a crawl along I-90 near Worcester MA.  Weather was good, but warm.  It was 90F as we entered MA and then dropped a few degrees as we traveled south.

At 1303 hrs we rolled into Pine Lake RV Resort & Cottages, stop# 26 on this year's travels,  after driving just 158 miles today.  Things looked familiar was we registered and come to find out this used to be a Yogi Bear resort!  It's pretty big with lots of amenities.

We in-checked quickly with very friendly staff, and made our way to our campsite.  They were able to accommodate our request for satellite-friendly location.

Reasonable space on each side, full hookup 50A

Doreen may have other ideas but my primary goal here is to travel to Springfield MA and visit the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, the birthplace of the M1 Garand rifle.  Gen George S, Patton said the M1 Garand was "the greatest battle implement ever devised".

So back to the awning motor cover, I contacted Alliance RV and got the part numbers for the cover and then got with Lippert to translate them into Lippert part numbers.  Once there I quickly found the cover and the rubber hole plug on Amazon and they will be here by Sunday (we are here until Tuesday).

This afternoon we tuned into (via Game Changer app) our grandson Daniel's first state tournament baseball game in Cedar Rapids.  Both of our daughters, Michelle and Jennifer, along with grandchildren Lucas and Lindsey are there to cheer them on. Tonight we will watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever play the Phoenix Mercury.

We removed Liberty's bandage last night and she is doing well.  We were concerned we might have to use the "cone" on her, but she is behaving herself and not licking or chewing the wound.

Steaks and tots for dinner tonight!  Life is good!
