This is our last day at Bull Shoals White River State Park Campground. We relaxed a bit and made preparations inside and outside to depart tomorrow morning.
This afternoon we met Paul, my fishing guide and his spouse Cindra at Gaston's Restaurant which is part of the resort, located right on the White River. They were having a Mother's Day brunch and we thought it only appropriate to take our spouses there to celebrate!
The waiting area of the restaurant decorated with all sorts of antiques

Notice all the old antique outboard motors hanging from the ceiling

A huge buffet with all sorts of great food
We had a great brunch with Paul and Cindra and enjoyed a great conversation about our common interests and our Air Force careers. We never knew each other when we served but you would never know that from our conversations. Like it is with many Veterans, you would think we served together for years!
As we left the restaurant Paul pointed out a unique equipment lift used to transport fishing gear down to the dock! That is awesome. I wished we had something like that to transport our scuba gear including our tanks at several places I've dived.
We headed to our vehicles and Paul showed us his awesome 63 Chevy II Nova drag car. I probably won't get all the details correct, but is has a sic 565 cubic inch big block Chevy engine fed with a 1050cfm Holley Drag Dominator carb.
On the back side it has 411 gears and 33” Drag Slicks by 20” wide
Tomorrow we will pull chocks early and hear north and east to East St Louis and Scott Air Force Base FamCamp.
