16 May 2024 - NSTR Last Day at Camp Atterbury

Very laid back day here at Camp Atterbury, and that is not a bad thing.  As mentioned yesterday this is just an interim stop on the way to Elkhart Goshen area.  We have been here multiple times before and took in many of the surrounding sites back then.

Doreen took advantage of the free laundry and washed everything that was soiled even including my work towels.  While she was doing that I washed the RV so it would be nice and purdy when she meets up with her cousins in Elkhart and Goshen for the next two weeks!!

As I was washing the coach, we got a mini air show overhead with a C-130 apparently training with some touch and goes at the airfield here, and a helicopter doing the same. That takes me back to years and years of working on and around military installations all around the world.  It's a beautiful sight!

Later we headed into town fueling the big ol' brown truck for the trip tomorrow, and picking up a Casey's taco pizza while we were there!  Back in Casey's land!  We also seeked out the Edinburgh post office and mailed a couple cards.  We track all of the kids and grandkids birthdays, anniversaries, etc and send cards at the appropriate time.  Old school traditions!

Tonight we will watch the WNBA Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark host the New York Liberty.  At the same time the Chicago Cubbies host the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Tomorrow morning we will wave goodbye to Camp Atterbury and bug out of here, heading north to Elkhart Indiana where many of our friends and soon to be friends are converging for the Alliance National Rally.  This year they are expecting around 400 coaches I believe which translates to likely 800-900 Ally's!  Should be a great Rally!
