Nothing significant to report today except a great lunch. We headed into Watertown NY to pick up a couple prescriptions at Walgreens and while in town decided to check out a local eating establishment called "Holy Smokes Bourbon and BBQ". Two things in that name made my mouth water when I found it on Google.
Parking was snug but it was a side street and we were not there that long. We were greeted by a delightful young lady behind the counter who guided us to menu selections and took our order.
I ordered pulled pork with creole corn (spicy) and smoked mac n' cheese. Doreen ordered pulled beef brisket with fries and Cole slaw. Ok, now, there is just one thing missing! Where is the "bourbon" as in :Holy Smokes Bourbon and BBQ"?? Welp, no bourbon folks! They were going to do a bourbon bar along with the BBQ before COVID but the plan got sidetracked. So I settled for a Sprite! The food was outstanding and plenty of it, so much that we brought back about half for dinner! Nice place, great food and friendly! Stop by of you are in the neighborhood!
On the way back we fueled up the truck to the tune of $4.199/gal (ouch) and then headed back to the campground to complete all of the normal pre-departure stuff, wash some rugs and other mundane tasks.
Tonight we are watching grandson Lucas (we fished together before the Alliance Rally in Michigan) playing high school hockey. He is the goalie. There is a streaming app called :Livebarn" that makes this possible.
Tomorrow we will bug out of here on a relatively light travel day of 177 miles, and head across Lake Champlain on a ferry to the Burlington Vermont area to see Armand (Hammy) and Lorie Lambert. We served with Hammy in the Air Force at Loring AFB Maine back in the 70's. We will be there for five nights before heading into Maine.
