We rolled into Mustang Run RV Park at 1318 hrs after traveling just 175 miles today. We were immediately greeted by a fellow Alliance owner Greg Rodd from West Bend WI. More about Greg later. We were also greeted by a heat wave which was very welcome! I peeled off my sweatshirt quickly and decided the "uniform of the day" for tomorrow would be shorts! We checked in to the office and then made our way to our site.
We have stayed here several times before and always enjoyed our stay. The sites are full hookup, level and paved with ample grass between them. Pictures tomorrow. Greg, who greeted us when we first arrived, and his spouse Diane own an Alliance 390MP which is the same model coach our oldest daughter Michelle owns. They bought it at the same dealership our daughter did, I believe, and they are all from Wisconsin, so small world! Their coach is parked right behind ours so after we got set up we took Liberty on a walk and stopped by to meet them. Doreen gave them one of her embroidered Alliance kitchen towels. Greg and I shared a couple beers and had some great conversation. Of course we have mutual friends we have met between attending Alliance Rally's and meeting Ally's at campgrounds along the way.
Tonight after our traditional Friday night homemade pizza we watched our Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team defeat UConn in the Final 4 and advance to the NCAA championship game on Sunday afternoon. So tomorrow (rather than Sunday) we may attend an Oklahoma City Dodgers AAA baseball game vs Albuquerque at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. That is such a great area around the ball park and we enjoy visiting it. Other than that we have no firm plans here. We are just here for two nights after tonight, before we head on further south on Monday to Abilene TX and Dyess Air Force Base. We will arrive there just in time to witness the solar eclipse!
