Nothing significant to report (NSTR) today, our last day at Mustang Run RV Park near Oklahoma City. Doreen got a jump on some laundry first thing this morning as I drove a short distance and refueled the truck in preparation for our travels tomorrow. Being Sunday morning the RV park here really cleared out. Other than some seasonal folks along the edges, most of the pull-through sites where we are were vacated before noon.
Liberty thought she was queen for a day as we walked about the park leashed but unchallenged! I spent some time on the computer looking at our route tomorrow which will take us to Abilene TX and Dyess Air Force Base FamCamp. There is no interstate that will take us directly there, but some of the state highways look like they are four-lane divided. The entire trip is estimated at 275 miles which is a little above average for our travel days.
We are able to check in at noon tomorrow, and we want to be there by then so we can be done setting-up and watch the solar eclipse. We had talked about dropping the trailer and then driving an hour or so southeast from Abilene to be in the path of 100% totality, but Doreen and I agree that 96% in Abilene is close enough!
This afternoon we watched the Iowa Hawkeye Women's basketball team play the South Carolina Gamecocks for the NCAA Women's championship. Iowa fell short of a victory, but they played their hearts out and credit goes to South Carolina as they played a great game. All of the players on the Iowa team including the iconic Caitlin Clark had a great season and they were a pleasure to watch. We wish them the best.
Following the game I went outside, emptied and flush the tanks, stowed the hoses and made preparations to depart about 0600 hrs tomorrow which should put us in Abilene around noon We've never been to Dyess Air Force Base or Abilene so we look forward to exploring that area.
